So I missed posting anything on my blog in 2010, but I'm back now with an updated look.
Recently I've been arranging some music for my contemporary music ensemble at Cabrillo College. That means writing down the violin, viola, and cello parts onto sheet music by hand. It was great fun. The students really enjoyed sight-reading through the score last Friday. The group will be performing this arrangement in April for a recital. We're also going to rock out with some Led Zeppelin pieces--Kashmir and Stairway to Heaven--at that performance.
I just saw Justin Bieber's Never Say Never today. I thought he was really cute and most stunning. It was great to see such talent at such an early age. Now I understand how my young students feel--perhaps the same way I felt when first saw The Beatles.
